Google Voice on iOS 5 - fix pending?

If you're a Google Voice user and recently updated to iOS 5.0, chances are you've experienced crashing with frustrating regularity.  It sounds like the cause of this has been discovered and isolated, and a fix will be coming soon.

Everyone: we found the sign in bug and have come up with a fix. We are testing it and will release an update as soon as we can. Sorry about this and thanks for your patience.

I received this email yesterday, buried amidst the other miscellaneous emails Google deems as "Notifications".  First glance at the subject line almost resulted in my marking it as read and moving on.  It's actually a really exciting feature upgrade and something I've been hoping for, for a long time.  Anyone else out there with a substantial ebook library they've built up should likewise be happy, as they'll now be able to rely on Amazon for storage and syncing of their "personal documents" - original email included after the break.

Using Gmail, Calendar and Docs without an Internet connection

Google has (finally) announced offline access for Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Docs. This is especially exciting news for those of us using Chromebooks like the Samsung Series 5. While the offline access for Calendar and Docs is handled through the normal web interface, the offline access for Gmail comes in the form of a Chrome App. It is very reminiscent Honeycomb Gmail App. Check out the full article from Google's blog here.
